AECB 2011 Annual Conference

Retrofit: Moving in and Moving on

University of Nottingham, Jubilee Campus
Friday 16th & Saturday 17th September 2011

Download a document of the feed back from the conference.

This years AECB Conference and AGM was held in the Jubilee Campus of the University of Nottingham and was a joint event with the Department of Architecture and the Built Environment, University of Nottingham

At the planning stage we agreed that we should look in some depth at issues around refurb as many of the Retrofit for the Future projects were coming to a conclusion. In the last couple of years there has been a very heavy focus on energy issues we thought it would be good to look at some other areas that may have been bypassed. To this end we also had presentations on community involvement, usability, embedded carbon, ethics and language. As well as chance to sample the Carbon Lite courses.

We also took this opportunity to launch the draft version of Less is More our latest major piece of research.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those from the university who supported the conference and organised tours as well as the presenters and others who helped make the conference such a success.
