Join us to celebrate 21 years of the AECB at the stunning new WISE building at CAT.
AECB chair Chris Herring is courageously cycling from deepest West Yorkshire up hill and down dale to CAT for this year's conference, in aid of the very worthy charity Practical Action. Don't let it be a waste of his tyre rubber - not to mention brake blocks! Click on the button to find out more about Practical Action and to donate.
Programme Overview
An opening presentation on CAT's latest report on Zero Carbon Britain 2030, launched in June, will provide a topical start to our 2010 event. This will be followed by a number of technical workshops looking specifically at renovation and building to the Passivhaus standard plus a number of related areas of interest.
Delegates will explore how to reduce energy use through renovation - looking at examples of jobs from fairly basic insulation projects right through to renovation to Passivhaus standard. A number of case study presentations of domestic and non-domestic builds to the Passivhaus standard and beyond will look at the problems encountered and how they were resolved.
Guided tours of both the Wise Building and CAT will be available.
To help keep the event carbon footprint low, we have arranged the timings so you can travel by train on the day of the conference from many parts of the country, and we are organising buses to meet the Birmingham trains arriving at Machynlleth station during the morning of October 1st.
